    1. [NYAllega] Russel Pier (or Russel Pire?)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Pire, Pier Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BUB.2ACI/6262 Message Board Post: Another plea for help: My grandmother was a Pire, from Bolivar. From what I gather, her father was James Pire, his father was Oscar Pire and his father was Russel Pier (apparently, Oscar changed the spelling of the name?) I think I have traced this family all the way back to Thomas Pier, who was born in England in 1625. There's a book about him, "The Descendents of Thomas Pier", written by Joseph Pierre. His sons fought in the Revolutionary war and their history is realy fascinating. Anyway, I was wondering if you could help me confirm the link from Oscar Pire to Russell Pier (spelled Russel Pier in the 1870 Bolivar census). I need to confirm that this Russel was born in Guilford NY (Chenango County) and that his father was Silas Pier. I have found a couple of genealogy sites where users have submitted information that supports what I've come up with, but they are just people who posted family trees and messages on the web. I can't completely draw a conclusion using what I have. Will you please help me? if this is so, then Bolivar can chalk up another neat Revolutionary War link!
