McCARTHY Francis E. McCARTHY of Short Tract, died July 13, 1974, at St. James Hospital, Hornell. He was born at Fairport, October 21, 1897, a son of John and Anna DEYO McCARTHY. He married the former Jean DRURY, who survives. Mr. McCarthy was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church of Fillmore, and had been an employee of the New York State Conservation Department, prior to his retirement. He was a Navy veteran of World War I and a life member of the Short Tract American Legion. Surviving in addition to his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Cathleen) McLAUGHLIN; of Scotia, a brother, John T. McCARTHY of Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Olive SALMON of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler Funeral Home, Fillmore on July 16, 1974. A Requiem Mass will be offered in St. Patrick's Church, Fillmore, with the Rev. Norbert SELZLER, pastor, as celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Short Tract Cemetery, Town of Granger. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Fillmore Rescue Squad. [Transcribed by Louise Y.
