MERWIN, a lifelong resident of Fillmore, died June 28, 1974, at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Born in the town of Hume on June 27, 1898, she was a daughter of Eugene and Nellie FOSTER SCOTT. She married Fred MERWIN, who predeceased her in 1962. Mrs. MERWIN graduated from Fillmore Training Class and was a rural district school teacher in the Hume district. She also gave private piano lessons. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Science in Boston, Mass. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ann BURGESS, of Fillmore; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Cora) BENGLE of Angelica, two brothers, Foster SCOTT and Almon SCOTT, both of Fillmore; and two nephews. There will be no visitation or funeral. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Hume. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Music Scholarship Fund in Mrs. MERWIN's name, care of Fillmore Central School, or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
