I am researching the Major family of Almond, NY. My ancestor Lafayette Major was born on April 24, 1832 in ALMOND!! I cannot figure out who his parents were! He came to Fulton Co IL in 1837 at age 5 with who? I have done extensive research on the famous Stephen Major family of Almond. I can find no trace of Stephen Jr. and suspect he may be the father of my Lafayette. Can anyone help me solve the mysteries of who Stephen Jr married, if he stayed in Almond, who are the parents of Lafayette????? Such an unusual name..could he be named after the Lafayette, the famous Rev War Hero? PLEASE HELP me solve this mystery!! Thanks Beth
