Hello. I'm searching for any information on Luther C. Downing. Luther C. moved from Windsor County, Vermont to Allegany County, New York between 1810-1820. Luther's wife name was Sarah CAREY, they were married in Vermont. Luther was in the War of 1812 and died in 1849. It seems Mrs. Downing had disappeared for the 1850 census, I've tried soundex, etc and no luck! This Downing family seems to have a connection to the Forbes/Forbs family from Vermont that also moved to Allegany County. The Forbes family were their neighbors in Vermont and also Allegany County.
