    3. Olean Times Herald Thursday, 27 October 1938 Charles Wilbur Stout, aged seventy-nine passed away at his Main Street Friendship home Tuesday evening after a long illness. He had resided there sixty-seven years. He was born at Pleasantville, Pa., April 4, 1859, and was the son of Amos and Isabelle Jolly Stout. In 1883 he married Cynthia A. Drake. He had been variously engaged while in Friendship, conducting a coal and wood business, and later was connected with the Drake Manufacturing Company and a hardware store. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ernest W. Stout of Friendship and Charles Raymond Stout, editor of the Chronicle Journal, Franklinville; a sister, Mrs. George Smith of Richburg; a brother, Harry E. Stout of Ilion; two grandchildren, Maxwell R. Stout and Betty J. Stout of Franklinville. Mr. Stout was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Friendship and for several decades he served as a clerk and deacon. He was a member of the Allegany Lodge, No. 223, F. and A. M. for many years. Funeral services will be conducted from the home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Martz W. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. =========================== Olean Times Herald Monday, 31 October 1938 CHARLES WILBUR STOUT, prominent Friendship resident and Baptist Church deacon, who died Wednesday, was laid to rest Saturday in Mount Hope Cemetery after funeral services at the home on Main Street at two o'clock. The Rev. Martz W. Snyder, pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church officiated. Pallbearers were Charles and Herbert Green, Howard B. and M. Carey Drake, William Stevens and Roy Thompson. Out-of-town relatives in attendance were: the Rev. Austin Jolly, D.D., Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Jolly, Mrs. Donna Jolly Lewis and Miss Sabina Charlton of Washington, Pa.; Mrs. George Smith and William Nye, Richburg; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hicks and Morton Olcott, Canastota, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Reed Crawford, Livonia; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Washburn, Wellsville; Mrs. Fred Shoppe and Boyd V. Drake, Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beckwith and daughter and Frank Beckwith, Bolivar; and Mr. and Mrs. William Ackerly, Cuba.
