He was supposedly dropped off at an inn in the Almond, NY area of Allegany County by a woman who went to run an errand and never returned. He was raised by Dorcas and James Wright in Clarksville,NY and married Rose Wright from Almond,NY. He was born about 1851. Do not know where the middle name Hartshorn came from as it is not a surname in the family. Ever hear such a story or know anything?
