Author: jaybird210 Surnames: McGibney, Green Classification: biography Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.allegany/9841/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Guardian Records page 196 The people of the state of new york to Mary E McGibney of the town of West Almond in the county of Allegany and state of New York Greetings, Whereas Mary E McGibney who is mother of Watson E McGibney, Adah McGibney, Cora A McGibney. minor children of Alonzo B Mcgibney late of the Town of Angelica in the county of Allegany deceased hath in and by his petition to the Surrogate of our County of Allegany represented that said minors are under the age of fourteen years to wit Watson E McGibney was 12 years old June 18 1972 Adah McGibney was 10 years old 20th day of November and Cora A Mcgibney 4 years of the 19th day of September last. That said minors reside in the town of Angelica in the said county of Allegany theat no guardian has been appointed for them that to preserve and protect legal rights of said minors it was necessary that some proper person should be appointed Guardian of them persons and estates and praying that you the said Mary E McGibney might be appointed such guardian, until said minors should arrive at the age of fourteen years and until another guardian shall be duly appointed and whereas such pr! oceedings were had before said surrogate upon the said petition that on the 12th day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and 73 the said surrogate did order that you the said Mary e McGibney be appointed guardian of the persons and estates of the said minors agreeably to the prayers of the said petition, on your making executing and filling with the said surrogate such bond or obligation as is required by the statue in such case made and provided and you the said Mary E Mcgibney having executed to the said minors bond with sufficent security approved by and filed with said surrogate according to the form and requirements of said statue we do therefore by these presents constitue and appoint you said Mary E Mcgibney Guardian of the persons and estate of said minors.
