He and his brother supposedly came from France to NY around 1875. Upon arrival, someone robbed them of their money. William was working in St. Louis, Mo. as a driver in 1876. William later moved to Jefferson and Washington Co., Mo. I do not know the brother's name or where he went. William's parent's were Vieto Nephew and Hortense Dupien. William married Lucy DeGonia 1877 in Old Mines, Washington Co., Mo. They had 11 children. William died 1923 and is buried at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Old Mines, Mo. William and Lucy's children were: Cloves, Agnes, Ella, Tresia, Anna, Frank, John, Clara, James, Thomas and Bertha. Perhaps one of the boys was named after William's brother.
