They had a daughter Mary who might have been born in NY but I am not at home with my files to see at the moment. She was I thought born in Ohio. Author: florence962 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.allegany/10102/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Does anyone know anything about a young boy left for adoption or abandoned and adopted or raised by the Wright family in Clarksville, NY? He was born about 1852 and raised by James and Dorcas Wright. He may have been left in Almond or Alfred, NY around that time. They named him Frederick Hartshorn Wright and there are no Hartshorns any place to our knowledge in the family. Any information would be so much appreciated. I have been searching for his birth parents for years as he was my husband's great grandfather. He was an oil driller and lived later in Almond, NY where he died. Very frustrating too, as we want to honor the dead by acknowledging them, and for some reason the church does not see it that way. The Stubler's are most probably in St Bonaventure Cemetery if they were buried in Allegany. Perhaps the historian in the Town of Allegany can suggest the best method of researching that cemetery. His obit only stated Allegany, NY. I am waiting for a DC. His wife Honora Stubler, died in Bradford, PA. The Bradford Landmark Society had no records on her. Trying all possibilities. Their daughter Mary Ann died in Buffalo. She was buried in Oil City. Some of my distant Dow relatives are from Cattauragus County. The Stublers were Catholic.. I expect they are in a Church cemetery. Catholic records are hard to research. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
