Frank, this site is a great place to start as has major battles and links to other sites. http://www.historycentral.com/1812/ Footnote.com ( pay site) has Nat'l Archives pension records. Try a Google search for what you want specifically. There will be a lot of new things this year as the bi centennial approaches. This is a courtesy message addressed to the Internet Explorer users in particular. There was a code glitch causing the lists not to display properly, showing a long string instead. This has been fixed and now showing the lists properly (taking me 5 days to fix every page.) I regret that no one bother to tell me about this problem for over a month. O'Brien (1878-1959) and Anna Sullivan (1886-1970). I suspect that Edward's parents may have been Michael (Birdsall 1849) & Mary O'Brien (1859) who both died in Hornell in 1937. Edward & Anna both appear in Olean in the 1920 US Census but records cannot be located for them in 1910 although their son Lawrence James O'Brien was born in Olean in 1909. Their daughter Theresa was born in 1907 in Birdsall. Edward was originally from Hornell, but neither he or his parents (presumably Michael & Mary O'Brien) are found in either Olean or Hornell in 1910. Anna was from Olean but no record can be found for her either. Edward & Anna are listed in the 1911 Olean City Directory though, but not 1908. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible that some people were just missed on this Census record? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
