Author: BOX263 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.allegany/1128.1996.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you very much. I can see how the author of the Rushford publication could easily have made such a mistake. It would be very unusual to have a Sophia and a Sophronia as siblings. Whereas the author doesn't mention Sophia at all, I assume she must of thought they were one and the same. I see another posting on this thread explains Amazi's family which were mostly in Hinsdale. I'll keep working in that direction. Thanks again. Sid Emmons, Historian, Town of Lyndon, Catt Co.,NY Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have a conflict with the Sophonia BENNETT that you say married Amazi CLARK. My data shows Sophonia BENNETT (b 8 Dec 1815) to have married Horatio Nelson HAMMOND on 2 Sept. 1840 and having seven children. Her parents were Andre BENNETT (b abt 1788) and Rachel ORCUTT (1785-1871)My data comes from "Rushford & Rushford People" by Helen J WHITE GILBERT published 1910 pg 64-65. Now, this doesn't make it so but there is obviously a conflict. I have no data on Amazi CLARK non do I find him in the "History of Allegany County" by John MINARD pub 1896 or the "History of Cattaraugus County" by Adams pub 1893. Again, that doesn't mean he wasn't here, as these histories are by no means complete. I'd be interested in knowing more about this CLARK family so I might better connect them to this area. 3. HI Always check for sources f or old story books and Histories. Did you check the census records? townrecords, Church records should help you both resolve this ... I watch Clark as a collateral so thought I would make comment. 1. [NYALLEGA] STEDWELL Family Photograph

    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Charles Milton STEDWELL which was taken at the Stuart Studio in Buffalo, New York.
