    2. J.R. Norton
    3. My name is Jim Norton and I currently researching Wesley L. BURRELL. He was found in the 1920 Federal Census in Allegany Township, Potter Co, PA. as owning a farm. In the 1930 Federal Census, he is living in Allegany Township, Cattaraugus Co. NY, having sold the farm and is working as an oil pumper on an oil lease. Apparently during the decade from 1920 to 1930, he moved his family from Potter Co., PA. to Cattaraugus Co., NY to seek employment in the oil fields. There are three families with the BURRELL surname living on, what looks like Harrisburg Run in Cattaraugus Co. Would anyone have more information on this family and the location of Harrisburg Run. Thank You! JRN

I am seeking a DAVIS family, suspected to be in the Alfred area during the same timeperiod.......... My mother took a trip from Belmont to the Alfred area and met her Uncle, unknown DAVIS, sometime between 1916 and 1920. (She believes his first name could be Walter). I have searched for anything about this family for years now. I know from experience that surprises come from leaving no stone unturned-- Happy Familying~~ Lynda b530p@aol.com

    1. [NYAllega] Looking for Caseys from Co. Kerry, Ireland & Allegany Co.
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: CASEY/O'HERN/BROWN/BAKER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BUB.2ACI/5869 Message Board Post: I am trying to trace my great-great-great grandparents, DENNIS CASEY (1801-1873) and HONORA (O'BRIEN) CASEY (1816-1871) to County Kerry (Listowel or Killarney), Ireland as well as locate other descendants in the following New York State and Pennsylvania counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, and McKean. About 1848 Dennis, Honora, and their six children--John T. (1835-1889), Timothy (1836-1864), Ellen (born 1841-1910), Mary, Edward, and Dennis G. (about 1847-1909)-- emigrated from Listowel or Killarney. They were Catholic, grocers, comfortably established financially. However, in about 1848, when great numbers starved because of the Great Potato Famine, they suffered heavy financial losses, having given freely to those who had no money to pay. Dennis and his family settled in Cuba, N.Y and he was one of the original members of Our Lady of Angels Church. A family document described him as a "crew boss." "He did the 'figuring' and always wore a high silk hat!" Details pertaining to Dennis and Honora children include: 1.) John T. married Margaret Foley (1839-1895) and became a section foreman on the Erie Railroad. He was educated, a violinist, and an overseer of the poor for three consecutive years. John and Margaret had 4 children, Josephine Skinner, Nora E. (1859-18 Oct. 1945) Timothy (1862-1923?), Mary J. and Rev. John E. (1865-23 Mar. 1929). 2.) Timothy, worked on the Old Genesee Canal. He drowned at his work while still young. 3.) Ellen (1841-1910?) married Patrick O'Hern. Among their 6 children, Edward who became a colonel. Father Louis O'Hern, who held high position in the Paulist order of priests. Father John Francis O'Hern, who was bishop of the Rochester Dioceses. Father Dennis O'Hern. Monsignor Thomas O'! Hern, was a very popular preacher. He gave weekly radio sermons from Buffalo, New York. Nora who married Judge Parker of Children's Court in Olean. 4.) Mary married Maurice O'Hern. They had 3 girls and 6 boys. The girls married well and the boys held prominent positions, a doctor, 2 priests, a railroad engineer, and an actor. 5.) Edward became a carpenter, left Olean, New York and settled in Red Oak Iowa. There, he became a well-to-do building contractor and raised a fine family. 6.) Dennis G. (circa 1847-1909). First married Maria Brown. I have determined that my lineage stems from Dennis G. (circa 1847-1909) and Maria (BROWN) CASEY (14 Apr. 1855-14-Dec. 1878). They married when they were very young and had four children, Carrie Marion (Mamie), John A. (born 1872) , and Francis C. (1875-1939). Maria died young and these children were raised by the Brown family. 1.) Carrie, married Aaron Keller and they lived in Cuba, New York. Carrie had no children and died very young. 2.) Marion married Dan Van Cise and lived n Castile, New York. She had one son, Earl Van Cise. She passed away when she was about 35 years old. 3.) John A. married Pearl Leona Foster had four daughters, Genevieve, Thelma, Irene, and Veryl. 4.) Francis C. married Glenna Maude Baker. They had four children. Francis CASEY, from Dennis' first marriage, is my great-grandfather. Francis and Maude had four children, my grandfather. I would love to hear from any relatives or from anyone who can contribute to furthering my research. Thanks, Kim Casey-Del Priore
