HOWDEN of this place, that their youngest son Shirley, aged 39, had passed away at the Veteran's Hospital at Bath, where he had been taking treatments for the past few weeks. Great hopes were held by his family and friends for his recovery, but it seemed to no avail. Hence his untimely ending. Shirley was a graduate of the Bryant & Stratton Business College of Buffalo, although the past 14 years he had lived on his father's farm on Snyder Hill. During the World War, he was with the navy department, spending some of his term of 26 months on the battleships Illinois, S. Carolina and Connecticut. To mourn this extreme loss are his widow, Margaret, and three young children, his father and mother, three brothers, and two sisters and many friends.
