    1. [NYAllega] Re: NYALLEGA-D - 1930 Census Lookup, Burdick
    2. Barrett Andrew Burdick was in household of Sherman and Kezia Burdick as "relative charge" -- may mean a foster child. He may not have been a Burdick, just using the name. There were no other Andrew Burdicks either 7 or 8 years old in the index. There were several James Burdicks of both ages, one in Horseheads, Chemung Co. Since census date was April 1, 1930, many persons turning 8 that year would not yet have had their birthdays.

    1. [NYAllega] 1930 census lookup request please
    2. After checking over 2000 --1930 census names of Burdick, I have come up with several that could be my family members. Andrew James Barrett is listed as: BARRETT ANDREWS BURDICK b, 1921 age 8 on page 96 of the Ivdividual Database Search Results from Ancestry.Com. Unfortunately I have no subscription for this so I could not view the records. Connected with this child should be his mother, MYRTLE MAY BURDICK and a possible father or uncle or grandfather of D.S. Burdick in Alfred or Alfred Station (are these the samething). On this smae individual database, there were listed several possiblilities for his mother and or male family members as follows: BURDICK, SHERMAN D. AGE 69 ON PG 96 MAE BURDICK AGE 46 B. 1883 PAGE 111 MYRTLE AGE 33 B. 1896 PG 115 MAY AGE 46 B. 1883 PG 117 DAVID BURDICK AGE 29 B. 1900 PG 142 MYRTLE AGE 39 B, 1890 PG 163 ANDREW J. BURDICK AGE 36 B. 1893 PG 163 MYRLTE BURDICK AGE 41 B. 1888 PG 166 MYRTLE E. AGE 8 B. 1921 PG 166 ( POSSIBLE SISTER) MYRTLE AGE 49 B. 1880 PG 183 MYRTLE AGE 16 B. 1913 PG 191 MAY AGE 40 B. 1889 PG 198 Myrtle May may have been divorced about 1935 or remarried about 1935 when Andrew entered High School. Up until high school, he lived in Alfred and went to school but according to his military papers, he went to school in Watertown , NY for high school. Only military mention of Burdick for Andrew was on his dog tags listing D.S. Burdick at 55 N. Main Street Alfred NY. In his writen paperwork, no father is mentioned, nor is there anyother connection mentioned to the Burdick name. He was listed on the casualties for Alfred for his death in WWII on April 14, 1945. That is the only tie I have for him other than he worked in Alfred before he went in service. Help! Could some kind soul please check the 1930 census for Alfred/ Alfred Station and see if there is an Andrew James Barrett Burdick listed age 8 born 1921? Vicki

    3. I know of this family but have not connected them to my LINZYs. However, I would be optimistic about finding a connection as this is such a unique spelling of the LINZY name, and the ones in W. New York mostly seem to be connected. My research has come a long way since 1998 (my original posting!) and I have a lot of information to share, including information about a Daniel LINZY who was the grandson of Daniel LINZY (the founder of my family line in America), but his father was James and his wife was Jenny Demery. When was Minor born and where? Could he have been the brother of my Daniel. My Daniel was born in 1806 in Oxford County, England.
