Surnames: kinney, wright, baldwin, umiker, gallman, desmond, sullivan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BUB.2ACI/6204 Message Board Post: I am looking for a Charles Kinney who married my great-great-grandfather's sister Sophia L. Wright. From the 1855 New York State Census (Allegany County) I see a C. C. Kinney who was 42 and born in Connecticut. His wife is named Mary A. (age 36) and she was born in Rhode Island. Residing at home are Jane F. (age 16), William Henry (age 15), Angeline (age 10) and Mary Ann (age 9). There was an older son Charles (Jr?) who would have been about 19 at the time of the Census and living elsewhere. Anyhow, it looks like Mary passed away and Charles later remarried. This second wife was Sophia L. Wright (1825-1914). She was not married previously. They were married in Aug 1880. She is buried with the Wrights on Knights Creek in Scio, Allegany, NY. He probably preceded her in death and may have been buried with his first wife--possibly in Livingston County, NY. On the 1880 Census I find him living with his son, Charles in Nunda Station, Livingtson, NY. This was a few months before he married Sophia.) Does this ring a bell with anyone?????

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BUB.2ACI/6199 Message Board Post: ROBERT FRANCIS GREEN Robert Francis GREEN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. GREEN, passed away at his home Tuesday afternoon after a very serious illness of two months. He was born in Belfast, Oct. 11, 1907, and died Oct. 17, 1916. He was operated on at Cuba by Drs. HOUSE and THOMAS for tonsil and adenoid trouble. A few days later blood poisoning developed from running a rusty nail in his foot. Some time before then he had an attack of pneumonia which resulted in an abscess forming in his left lung which Dr. MOUNTAIN of Olean and Dr. MADISON operated on, removing a portion of rib to drain off the pus. Miss Emily TORKINGTON, a trained nurse, cared for him during his entire sickness. All that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. His little heart was too weak to stand such sickness. The funeral was held at the Baptist Church, October 20, at two o'clock, burial in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. H. SMITH officiated. His remarks were excellent. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Babbit, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. BABBITT, Mrs. Emma WYANT of Wellsville, Mrs. S.W. FORMAN and son Clifford of Olean, Mrs. Bert HOWDEN of Shinglehouse, William HENDRY of East Aurora, Mrs. Mary BARBER of Rushford, Chas. GREEN, Mrs. Orrin GREEN, Misses Nora and Frieda GREEN, Ernest HENDRY of Caneadea, Mrs. W. ELMER, Mrs. L BURCH, Mrs. Grace STEVENS, Mrs. Archie CURRIER and son Kenneth and Mrs. John HOEY of Oramel.
