Lois, The "Amasa Jenkins" hit was in Fort Wayne IN in 1898. Did not read the article. Did not find any hits with "Amosy Jenkins." For what it is worth, their subscription price is worth much more that you would think. I have used it thousands of times and would not be without. 72 million pages online now and growing more every day. Does anyone on this list have a membership in Newspaperarchive.com? If so, can you check to see what is available for Amasa and Amosy Jenkins. I know there was a Jenkins in Ellicottville in the 1850 Census, probably an apprentice blacksmith. When I checked these name, there was supposed to be 1 hit for each, and I really don't want to pay for a membership for something that may NOT be the person I am looking for. Maybe it will make some sence to you. My great grandmother Alfleeda Belle Reynolds, daughter of Volney and Christina (Smith) reynolds married Orin James Gleason. Orin James Gleason was the son of Oren W. Gleason and Amanda Melvina Brightman. Amanda Melvina Brightman is a big huge mystery, dont know for sure if she was born in Michigan or New York, suspect New York, dont know who her parents are, not real sure about age., no burial records, no clue who her parents are. How Ira Smith relates to this is this, Ira Smith came here with his wife Prudence (nee unknown)she died here, in Michigan in 1859. Ira Smith and Prudence, and there children, one of whom had the name Foshen Smith, are living in Wright township in the Census, with Amanda Melvina Brightman and Henry Brightman age 80. After years, and I mean years of seaching for some small clue about her parentage, I went back trough some of the Obits, wedding anouncements, etc. that listed quests and began looking at the people who I didnt know who they were. Hopefully for some clue, when I noticed that the name Wixson, seemed to come up alot. No idea who they were, maybe that was part of the problem. Ira it appears, remarried after the death of Prudence to Emeline Church, and then again after that marriage. He ran a stage coach station, and appears to have gotten around, from land records. He was the son of Ira Smith and Jane Chapin, I have there children's information, not that it's helping me that much. I see you last name is Reynolds, that's interesting. Are we related to each other in the Reynolds line? as well? Orin james Gleason had a brother, that Amanda named Phocian, similar to the Foshen Smith. I believe there is some connections, for they came here together. Just at a loss of what it is. Unless Prudence was Amanda's sister. I was told that one of our Jenkins family members served with Teddy Roosevelt. I am really not up to my WARS, but can you find out if there were any Jenkins listed? I hear that it might have been a William Jenkins but any Jenkins might help. The ones I have moved around a bit, but they were mostly in NY. Hi all. I have the following cd, which I am willing to do some lookups from. Revolutionary War Pensions Lists, Military Records. Contains images from 12 volumes of Revolutionary War pension records. Contains information on approximately 110,000 individuals. Some types of information that “may” be included is… Name and Rank, Regiment and description of service, Place of residence, Nature of wounds or disability, Date of death, Occasional reference to family members. Please send any requests for a lookup from this cd to me at HYPERLINK "mailto:[email protected]"[email protected] . Please be sure to put "Rev. War Pension Lists" in the subject line of your message. Even if you are not certain that your ancestor served during the Rev. I've seen the spelling both ways. These are possibly brothers. I've found them on the 1860/1870 census's. They are listed on the same page as being in New Hudson, Allegany Co., NY, both listed as born in NJ. Isaac born about 1807, has a wife Eliza, Charles born about 1805, has a wife of Samantha. I have found both of them buried in Sayre Cemetery, New Hudson, Allegany, New York. Along with their wives. I'm trying to find out if indeed they are brothers and who their parents might be. The family name came down as spelled Sayres, But I find it elsewhere as Sayers. Thank you for any help. Darla Cooper God put me on this earth to sew and finish a certain number of things.
