My Hillman ancestors moved from Otsego County, NY through Leicester, Genesee County (now Wyoming County), NY, to Farmersville and Freedom, Cattaraugus County, NY in the 1820s, then moved to Caneadea, Allegany County in 1860s. There are several un-named girls in the early censuses that I have no idea who they were, so I am interested to know where this Sarah Hillman came from. Author: MaryRhodes505 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.allegany/9898.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Yes - it is the same cemetery "Until the Day Dawn". There has never been a really NEW transcription of this cemetery. The "new" one on line is a retyping of a 1930's transcription, with recent burials added. The 1930's transcription was not a complete listing. Collectaneia is a great web site, taken from a book that was put together for an Angelica celebration, but it does not contain a complete list of names either. Many stones in this cemetery are too far deteriorated to read. Still, it is a beautiful cemetery, well cared for. One of these days we will get a complete list on line. It takes time....Mary - Allegany County Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: jodysgenes Surnames: Keiser/Kaiser Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.allegany/9898/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In "Angelica Collectanea & Obituaries" I found the following in a cemetery call "As the Day Dawns": Lionel W Keiser John Keiser Jennie Keiser Fred Keiser All buried in lot 149 Cardine (Caroline?)Kaiser John Kaiser Buried in lot 239 This "Collectanea" is an older transcription. On the newer transcription of Until the Day Dawns cemetery, it does not list any of the Keiser/Kaisers. My question: Is "As the Day Dawns" the same as "Until the Day Dawns?" Why would the Keiser/Kaisers show up on one but not the other? Trying to verify these people are buried there and any information regarding dates, etc. would be appreciated. If these are my Kaiser/Keisers the birth dates would be as follows: Keiser -- Fred 10 Nov 1879 Jennie (nee Dibble) cir 1886 Lionel cir 1910 John unknown Kaiser -- Cardine (Caroline)Oct 1844, Germany John Aug 1846, Germany All help appreciated -- Jody in KS Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
