    3. I am very happy to report there is now on line access to the Knowersville Enterprise July 1884 - July 1888 and the Altamont Enterprise July 1888 - June 1905, July 1906 - December 1976, and July 1977 - December 1979. * http://historicnewspapers.guilpl.org/ * The digitization of this collection was coordinated by the Guilderland Public Library. The original newspapers are owned by the Altamont Enterprise and Albany County Post and were microfilmed by the New York State Newspaper Project and the New York State Library. Let me also take this opportunity to announce that the Berne Families Genealogy now has over 72,000 names of individuals who once lived in Berne and the surrounding Hilltowns and of their ancestors and descendants. Recent additions include families buried in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery. -- Harold (Hal) Miller Berne Historical Project - http://www.Bernehistory.org Berne Blog - http://berneny.blogspot.com/

    3. Hal, Thank you so very much for the link to this wonderful website. I can't begin to tell you how useful it has been in finding not only information concerning dates for life events, but also insights into the social lives of my families! Needless to say, I have printed out many a page on the printer of wonderful, sweet information that I would have never found in ANY genealogy book. Thank you and the powers that be for passing this along to us. I also noticed that you said that the Westerlo Rural Cemetery is done? Is that what you meant by saying "recent additions include families buried in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery"?? We were in that cemetery in 2003 (I think that was the year) and I did take the inscriptions of a few folks whose surnames are among my family--namely the Filkins (of course) and many Boomhowers. Let me know if you would like them. I don't think we took any photos there partially because there was a huge storm moving in and it looked (and the thunder was confirming it!) like the end of the world. A huge deer come running through the cemetery, down the hill to the road...stopped...looked both ways like a school kid....(really!) darted across the road and continued into the woods. Awesome sight to this NY-born girl who is now a desert rat! Hope you and Hal had a lovely time in MA and that your wedding was a perfect as it could be in every way. Congratulations to both of you!
