No, a reason wasn't given, but I didn't question the legitimacy. That's a dead issue with me. : -) I'm now trying to find a new source/list/etc which will give me an overview of the available, before 1750, Albany Co records (such a listing makes it easier, naturally, to search the potentially most productive sources first).
