My William V. Simpson died in Albany in 1888 and is buried at St. Agnes. He was born in Ireland. His wife was Anna Elizabeth Drake and she died in 1905 in Albany. She also was born in Ireland. They were living in Georgetown MA in the 1850 census; I cannot find them in 1860; and they are in Albany by 1865. Here are their obits: Albany Argus, Sunday 22 July 1888: "July 21, William Simpson, age 69. Friends of the deceased and those of his sons, Joseph, Edmund, and George and son-in-law, James Many, are invited to attend the funeral Monday morning at 9:30 0'clock from his late residence, Hamilton Street, corner of Partridge, thence to the Cathedral" (notes: the same notice ran on Monday 23 July 1888 except the son's name George was omitted, and a son John was mentioned. Mistake??) Daily Press Knickerbocker, 2 June 1905: "The funeral of Annie E., widow of the late William V. Simpson took place from her late home, No. 539 Hamilton street, yesterday afternoon and later from St. Vincent de Paul's church where Rev. Fr. Walsh celebrated a requiem high mass and delivered the eulogy. There were many large floral pieces from sympathizing friends and acquaintances. The following acted as bearers at the internment in St. Agnes' cemetery: Michael Burns, James Mulrooney, Valentine Magin, Edward Gilbert, Harry Close, Patrick Hyde, William Finn, and A. Greenwood. Undertakers Lynch had charge." children: George C. Simpson 1865-1935, married Barbara Agnes Adams Joseph Simpson Edmund Simpson Ann E. Simpson, married James Many William H.
