I agree. My computer died on Sunday so I have to decide what to do ---buy XP online or buy Vista. I am struggling now with my laptop that I hadn't used in 10 months!!! I'm been running Vista (home basic and home premium) on 2 PC's the past year. So far I'm very pleased. Compatibility mode for older software is easier then XP. You do have to get use to the interface as it is different than XP. My only complaint is all the security which I found excessive. The user account control is particularly annoying. I shut it off. It warns you about the simplest changes you about to make. Once I reset them to a level comfortable to me it was okay. Lois, You don't clarify if you were buying a new computer, or intend to load a replacement operating system on the exiting one for which you did not mention age.?
