On his death certificate it says that he moved to 68 Green St. four months before he died there. His family in Germany were told that he died in a hotel and that he had a lot of money with him but that it disappeared. They think that he may have been killed. His death certificate says that he died from illnesses. Do you know what the area was like in 1917? How would I find the City Directories and Assessment rolls for that year?
