I probably have more information than anyone about cemeteries in Berne and who is buried there. Most all of my information is posted on line on the Berne Historical Project site at Bernehistory.org. Search both the Berne Families Genealogy and do a Surname Search from the home page since there are two separate data bases of names. When I am researching folks that lived in Rensselaerville I always contact Janet Haseley, Research Chair, The Rensselaerville Historical Society. <Edhase at aol.com> . Unfortunately Their office is closed for the winter so no one has access to their records. A great many early burials were in family cemeteries and marked with just field stones that either had no names or just initials and maybe a date. And many of these burying grounds have since been abandoned and overgrown. I know of one abandoned family buring ground in the area that has dozens of burials and only two stones can be transcribed.
