On Ancestry.com I found an entry for a Benjamin Oakey from Albany City Directories of around 1820. If anyone is able to look this up for me, I would appreciate details - or any other information about any Oakeys in Albany in the 1800s. I'm chasing a Benjamin Oakey from Swansea, Wales, who disappears from the records around 1800. His great-granddaughter and her husband later emigrated from England and settled in Albany, and I'm wondering if there might be a connection there that would explain their choice of location.
