    2. You are correct. For the most part Civil Registrations not required before 1880's. Church records for time 1800-1900 are spotty but have been transcribed in some places by volunteers. For a list of those available in the Albany area go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/ For Dutch Reformed church try the above and also OliveTree Genealogy site. Most records before 1800.I have a Book on licenses granted prior to 1800's. Will look it up if interested.

    3. I would appreciate if you could look up a marriage of a Daniel York born 1761( to Susannah Creller and David Yorck) and who was married about 1785. I am uncertain about his wife's name but she was referred to as Polly in a notation at the time of the birth of her youngest son in 1806 in Canada. Daniel lived in Hoosick , Rome and Rensselaer. His children were baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church as per the LDS site. Daniel was also baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church. I have tried the LDS site but it only lists Daniel's wife as Mrs. Daniel York. I have looked at the transcriptions of the Holland society but I cannot seem to locate the records for this time frame.
