    3. I vote to please keep the gateway to the message boards opened. Before I found the mailing lists, around 2002, I too was a message board poster. Occasionally, I still get replies to those posts from people that have not found the mailing lists yet. It's a great link to a possible wallbanger or to a living relative. If anyone has any connections to Mitchell, Roth, McMurray, or Kearns/Kerns in the Albany/Rensselaer area, from about 1850 to present, please get in touch. Best Regards, Robert MacMurray P.S. Here's a question/suggestion - Would it be possible to post a message to the Albany message board encouraging the people that use it to subscribe to the mailing list? It's been so long since I subscribed to the board that I can't recall if there's any reference to the mailing list when I signed up. It probably won't cut down on the miniscule amount of spam that gets through, but it may get a lot more people "on the same page" (so to speak). Think you could handle the extra baggage? :-) -----Original Message----- >From: Pat Connors <nymets22@gmail.com> >Sent: Jul 25, 2008 1:24 PM >To: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com, nyalbany@rootsweb.com >Subject: [NYALBANY] ADMIN MSG: re: Change your entire life around with a few clicks > >It looks like some spam got through via the NY Albany message board. >When I took over this list, a few years ago, we had a discussion about >keeping the message board connected with the list and most wanted to >keep the connection so we did. > >Meanwhile, Rootsweb became Ancestry with less overview, hence, we are >having problems with spam on the boards and on the lists.
