Hi JT, The indexes work for me.? I simply need the date and place of marriage of Cornelius Collins and Ellen (Helen, Nellie) McCarthy (McCartie).? The friend I am helping with his Irish citizenship will order the record if I can find where and when the couple was married. I understand the Albany office has the indexes for the whole state except for NYC.? If they are not in the index, they were probably not married in NY State, as I cannot find them in the NYC records. Also can you tell me when civil marriage registration was mandatory in the State of NY?? Is it possible the couple had a church wedding in NY State that was not registered with the State?
