At the new temporary location at 30 Clinton Ave. in Albany NY you may park in the lot, but it is usually full. Nearby street parking is free if available, or there are meters in front of the building. Most old wills are handwritten in large, heavy will books. They cannot be photocopied, and they have not been microfilmed. The photocopying fee is now $.25 per page for uncertified copies of the actual wills that are on file. Cameras are allowed on the premises, but someone from the Surrogate's Court has to be called to take you through security if you have a camera. The will books and original wills can be photographed.
