    2. The jail was approximately where the Hackett Junior High is now. The grounds extended west to the area now occupied by the VA Hospital. When the VA was being constructed during the late 1940's -early 1950's. several Civil War-era skeletons were uncovered from what was likely the prison's cemetery.
