How is it that most of the listings on this mailing list are shown with a "from" as Gateway but Cliff Lamere's postings give his email address? I find this posting with always Gateway as very confusing and hard to find the original poster. I am on other mailing lists and they are set up so that you see the email address of the poster. Barbara, I sometimes answer gatewayed messages by going to the message board. In that case, my email address does not show up on the incoming email. If it doesn't give a gateway address, you can be sure it went from a list member directly to the list, bypassing the message board. Hi Barbara, The basic answer to your question is that Cliff Lamere sends his messages directly to the NYAlbany County List. A membership on the list is required. Other persons who may or may not be list members may send messages to one of the boards listed on http://boards.rootsweb.com/. There are many messages listed on the Albany Board. You need to reply to the board if that is where a message originated. All replies are posted to the Board and also the List. Richard List Manager
