Use Pearson's "First Settlers" with caution. While its a valuable resource, the good Professor made a lot of quess work and unwarranted suppositions in compiling this and its companion "First Settlers of Schenectady" JTravis **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. John, You make a good point. As I was proof reading the quote on Ahasuerus Marselis, which I had just typed, I noticed that there seemed to be a discrepancy. Pearson stated the Marselis "had a lot in 1716, without the South Gate", yet "he removed to Schenectady in 1710". I had to double check that to make sure that I had transcribed it as Pearson had written it originally. Thanks, Leslie
The first generations in the books tends to be quite accurate. It is later that he sometimes confuses sons with the same first names with who they married. There are a lot of Marselis people out there doing good research though. I descend through the line as well.
