Though its now closed, much of the population of the Albany area (myself included) was born at Brady Hospital. Connected to it was St. Catherine's Infant Home. It was run by the Catholic Diocese. I'm not quite sure what was the criteria for admittance to St Catherine's. As I said previously, I have a sister who once worked there. I seem to remember seeing some severely handicapped children while touring the facility.
