Hi john  I am the original writer and my grandmother's obit states she[ Delia Ryan McNally]  was viewed at Owens funeral home and buried from St Joseph's in Oct 1935. I have been attempting to obtain my grandmother's place of birth in Ireland and correct date of birth- apparently the death cert info was incorrect as a search of birth records in Ireland came up empty for the date given. Across the street was the Magin and Keegan Funeral Home. Its still there. The church up the street is St. Vincent's (RG). There was a Jewish Funeral Home at 864 Madison (Schwartz). I know well the Dreis funeral home at 89 Second Ave as my parents owned 79 Second Ave. As someone pointed out, the building is now Sturges Funeral Home. Dreis is still in business, having merged with McVeigh on Allen St. I can't recall an Owens Funeral Home, but there where many of them in Albany that are now out of business.
