    1. [NYALBANY] Ice Houses in Cohoes
    2. Barbara De Mase
    3. I'm another Cohoesier. I lived in the north part of Cohoes so wouldn't remember Matson's. My uncle John Rioux owned an ice house where they made the ice inside in many compartments. As a kid, we would go up there to see the ice. This was in the Orchard section up near the Cohoes Falls. Before this, he had an ice house up along the Mohawk River. If you were coming East on the river and came under the bridge that Route 9 uses, as soon as you came under that bridge, his ice house was on the right. But I guess they didn't use it when I got older because it was a tumbled down wreck by then. Barbara Bisnett De Mase (one of the many Bisnetts that went to Cohoes High: Lois '50' Barbara "51 Jim "52 Kay '53 Pat '55 Tom '59 I remember the McAlonies and Murrays from Cohoes (we are all the "Old Timers" now.)
