Abner Munn was born in 1763 in Monson, MA. His children born there are Paley, Samuel, William and Lewis. I have copies of the Monson Church baptismal record I can send you (also a copy in the church record of Abner's marriage). In 1795 he sold his land to his brothers and moved to Bethlehem, NY (in 1800 census) where 6 more children were born - Sally in 1795 , twins Abner Jr and Abigail in 1797 and twins Jesse and Joseph in 1799(their mother Sarah Ives was the daughter of Rev Jesse Ives who had had a twin Joseph) and Almira. Then he moved to Duanesburg(there in 1810 census). I believe he left both places because he couldn't buy land - only rent there - all land in big estates. In 1811 he was in Mendon, NY. None of Monson, MA was listed in any of the 1790 census so that is why you haven't found him. He did serve in the Revolutionary War and my sons and I placed a marker at his grave in the 1980s. I have his line back from there. My dilemma is that his children in Bethlehem is known just by family lore - no documents. I am going to Salt Lake City next week for a conference and am going to spend 6 hours in the library there, I promised my mom I would never stop looking for proof. I am descended from Jesse who died in 1862 - have been to his grave also - in Oakfield, NY. Then his wife, Abigail Kimball Munn moved to Michigan where she is buried - been there also. Jesse's son John Calvin Munn moved also to Michigan - Schoolcraft just outside of kalamazoo. Abner's wife Sarah died after moving to Mendon and then he remarried a widow, Naomi Ford who is buried with him in Mendon. Was the marker for Abner still at his grave?
