Hal, Grippy Lane is on my DeLorme New York State Atlas & Gazetteer. It runs westward from Woodstock Rd and and joins Route 2 just south of Watertrough Rd., or about one mile north of Onderdonk Lake, or one mile northeast of South Berne. Woodstock Rd and Route 2 are both N-S roads in that area. Irish Hill Rd joins Route 2 about 2.7 miles north of where Grippy Lane joins it. I suspect Grippy Lane is on Grippy Hill. Just to the north of the Lane is a section that has no roads crossing or streams flowing. My guess is that that is the top of the Hill. To see Grippy Lane, go to Google. Click on Maps at the upper left. Search for: South Berne, ny grippy It will put you right on Grippy Lane. To the north a bit is a section between Woodstock Rd and County Rt 2 (Cole Hill Rd) that shows three roads (when magnified). From what could be the top of the hill, one goes east, one goes west, and one goes north. This all just a guess, but then, it could be correct.
