BDM Both from Ireland, William Sullivan with his wife, Ellen, he drowned in the river behind their home (Hudson or Mohawk (?), when she was pregnant with their first child cir. 1843 - 1847, they lived in Troy NY. Wm. Sullivan's cousin, Cornelius McCarty/McCarthy, b. 1804, from Ireland, who was also in love with Ellen b. 1824 (unknown surname), rushed to the USA to help her. (they lived on the corner of Congress and Saratoga) the child born was Mary Sullivan b. 1843 - 1847. Ellen (unknown surname) and Cornelius McCarty/McCarthy had more children together as follows: Mary Sullivan, (as mentioned above) later called Mary McCarthy b. cir. 1843 Michael McCarty/McCarthy b. 1851 Albany, N. Y. d. Akron, OH (married ??) Honora/Anna? McCarty/McCarthy b. 1853 Cornelius McCarty/McCarthy b. 1856 William F. McCarty/McCarthy b. 1860 d. 1894, Akron, OH (he followed his brother Michael) m. Mary Turner Ella McCarty/McCarthy b. 1861 d. 10/12/1943 Ans. Ct m. Michael McGrath Louise/Louisa McCarty/McCarthy b. 9/1863 d. 1938 Bronx, NY m. Mr. Egan Emma Lorretta McCarty/McCarthy b. 1866 3/26/1951, Chicago, IL m. Peter DeLangie It would be so wonderful, if someone knew something about the above. One more piece of information is that Ellen and Cornelius are buried in St. Agnes Cemetery, (Mennands) with some of their children and grandchildren. Thank you so very much.
