    1. Re: [NYALBANY] Helderberg or Heldebergh
    2. I have always seen it spelled Helderberg. Will people still find it if it doesn't have Albany in the name? People searching for ancestors are likely to know the area is around Albany but few may know Helderberg. People who live out of state or even in other parts of New York are more likely to think of our Hilltown area as belonging to the Catskills or even the Adirondacks, but seldom will know the term Helderberg. 3. Hal, The modern spelling on maps and atlases is Helderberg, but it was Helderbergh in French's Gazetteer of the State of New York (1860). I agreed with Janet before I saw what she wrote. As a term, Helderberg is only recognized by local people, and not even by most of them. Based on the current name you have, another possibility would be AlbanyCountyHilltowns.com. However, Hilltowns is also only a local name, unknown elsewhere. Your focus is on "Albany County's Western Towns" (Western Albany County Towns), so one of those terms might be acceptable.
