Hi Does anyone know what the boundaries of the 9th Ward in Albany City were when the 1860 US Census was taken? I'm trying to find out the area of the city that my wife's ancestor Mary Smith lived in. I found her with 4 children, no husband listed, in the 1860 census (Heritage Quest online) there. Apparently he pre-deceased her. If I knew a more specific area than I might locate a nearby church with records. Living in California I don't have access to city directories which probably list ward boundaries!
