    2. ACHOR does not have records for the Jewish cemeteries. I'm surprised the Jewish undertakers, Levine, said they didn't have records. The last I knew, Mark Levine had them. I have a list of Albany County Cemeteries & Burial sites that I know of. The Jewish Cemeteries on Western Ave and Fuller Rd are partially in Guilderland and part in Albany. **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. 2. Does the Albany County Hall of Records have records for the Jewish cemeteries in Guilderland? My wife's grandfather is buried their but all in the family that knew the location of the marker have passed. I believe I have the location but the stone (flat in ground) has eroded to a smooth surface, might like to replace the marker. The local Jewish funeral home was unable to help, I do not believe the grave is in a section owned by one of the synagouges Tom Mc Hugh **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? 1. [NYALBANY] Lookup: GreenIsland police recs/land recs
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: PattyKrueger10 Surnames: Bates Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.albany/7582/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Would someone have access to police records for Green Island, NY back in 1868? Are there land records available for Green Island for that time frame? The Syracuse NY Daily Journal reported on Oct 15, 1868 that Obediah & Stephen Bates were arrested for trampling on the cabbages of Calvin Bates of Green Island. "The parties are relatives and have had a bitter controversy over some property left by a deceased relative". I am hoping the police report could shed more light on how Calvin and Obediah are related? (Obediah has a son Stephen). But the land record would also be enlightening if it could give the relationship between donor & recipient. Oddly, Nov 11, 1868 the Syracuse NY Daily Courier reported that "someone destroyed cabbages in Calvin Bates' garden at Albany a few night since". So I am not certain if Calvin is living in Green Island or Albany at the time. Census 1860 finds Calvin Bates living in Brunswick; Census 1870 finds him in Watervliet. Any help in gathering more info about these men and how they are related (and to the land donor) would be so helpful! Thanks in advance!
