    3. That's interesting. ACHOR - Albany County Hall of Records? I wonder how many of these exist? I know that the Onondaga County Clerk's Office in Syracuse has a card file index on the 1892 county census and also the 1925 City of Syracuse only. They are inaccessible to the public as they are behind the dead man's line in the far right hand back corner of the downstairs archives. I was told that the WPA did these as a make work project. The former Archivist used to allow me to go back there to use them, but they did not want them publicized. The current staff person in charge just looks at me with a blank look and says she doesn't know anything about them. 2. Daniel Gannon
    3. Is there anyone on the list who can tell me if it is possible to access marriage records for Albany,NY..via Civil Registration..prior to 1823...my guess is No!! Am I correct in that assumption? If that is so...then are Parish Records for churches in Albany available?..are there lists of churches in existence in Albany starting in 1800? Are there researchers who specialize in collecting data from church records in Albany starting in 1800? Thank you for any suggestions you may have. Danny Ginnane-Gannon in Charleston,SC

    3. Hello Ed. It's nice to hear from you. The James Dugan you speak of here may be the James Dugan who Made affidavit for Owen McGough's Medical Pension. Owen McGough's son John is the man involved in the murder in Troy in 1894 along with Bat Shea. I have to sort out these all of the James Dugans a little more. It's very likely however, that you are of the Dugan group mentioned above and not of the William James Dugan who married Mary Ann Meehan. I have not traced the children of William James Dugan who died at Mattewan State Hospital. It is these descendants that I'm seeking so that I can see that they get a copy of this James' Pension. I certainly will share with you what I do know about the James Dugan probably kin by marriage, to Owen McGough's wife, Catherine Dugan. She d. 1872 and is buried in St. Peter's in Troy with her husband Owen. Keep in touch.
