    1. Re: [NYALBANY] looking for address for Bruce Ackrerman
    2. -- Thanks Janice -- -- Are you a school teacher or proof-reader? I checked my message twice for spelling and accuracy before sending it. The "abt.1700" should have been "1720". And yes, I'm aware that there are many John McMillans in the Capital District area and at least two between 1720 and 1724. I suspect that somewhere there is someone who has answers to my dilemma. I'm also wondering if there is a way to get an up-to-date e-mail address for some one who has posted on a yahoo site. I'm looking for Bruce E. Ackerman who had a posting in October 2007. Two attempts with the e-mail listed were returned saying that there was no account for that address. Any help would be appreciated. And there are more John McMillans around than you know. I've got 3 in Warren County. Janice Buffalo NY I'm trying to get information to separate John McMillen b. Midlothian, Scotland 1794 and John McMillan b. Midlothian Scotland abt.1700. Both died on the same date - 28 Aug 1806 (unusual, huh?) - one in New Scotland, NY and the other in Spartanburg, SC. 3. I would appreciate if you could look up a marriage of a Daniel York born 1761( to Susannah Creller and David Yorck) and who was married about 1785. I am uncertain about his wife's name but she was referred to as Polly in a notation at the time of the birth of her youngest son in 1806 in Canada. Daniel lived in Hoosick , Rome and Rensselaer. His children were baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church as per the LDS site. Daniel was also baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church. I have tried the LDS site but it only lists Daniel's wife as Mrs. Daniel York. I have looked at the transcriptions of the Holland society but I cannot seem to locate the records for this time frame. 2. You are correct. For the most part Civil Registrations not required before 1880's. Church records for time 1800-1900 are spotty but have been transcribed in some places by volunteers. For a list of those available in the Albany area go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~clifflamere/ For Dutch Reformed church try the above and also OliveTree Genealogy site. Most records before 1800.I have a Book on licenses granted prior to 1800's. Will look it up if interested.
