Descendants of Ananias Conklin(g) were among the earliest settlers in Rensselaerville which is in the extreme southwest corner of Albany County. They came from East Hampton, Long Island. Daniel Conkling, Sr. was among the earliest. Among other early Conkling names were Daniel Jr., John, Gurdon, David, and Josiah. Some used the Conkling spelling and some used the Conklin spelling. I asked a researcher I know who is working on some of these lines (not a list member) and I was told that "an Ananias (Conklin) line went to Renssellaerville and a "Pre-1700 Westchester Conklin, I think is more in the Saratoga area. The Wiltse surname is connected to the Pre-1700 Westchester Conklins usually. Lossing is a Dutchess name and all three main lines were there." Donna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leslie B. Hello, Malvina was living with her parents in Coxsackie, New York when the 1870 census was taken. On Nov. 15, 1872, Malvina Gregoire and Edmond Perrier had a son Adelbert in Troy, New York (not sure if Albany or Renselaar). So looking for the marriage between 1870 and 1872, and thinking it is in Troy or nearby. Desperately hoping to find this marriage as it has been a brick wall for many years. Thanks so much. Peggy G.
