I called St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, at 518-463-0134, and they confirmed that they do indeed have records for Calvary Cemetery Cohoes/St. Bernard's from 1892 forward. They were very helpful. Be sure to specify Calvary COHOES because there is also a Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont and those records are elsewhere. I don't have Lorenzo's marriage but I do have Rena May Vandenburg- her residence Cohoes, N.Y. - married to Henry John Forest Residence Wathervilet, N.Y. They were married at St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes, N.Y. on July 31, 1921. Rena's parents were Lorenzo and Delia Rivest. Rena was baptized on June 3, 1903 At St. Joseph's and the witnesses were Edwin Brant and Edith Forest. Henry Forest's parents were Henri and Ida Manthe. He was baptized at St. Jean Baptiste Church, Troy, N.Y on March 3, 1901. I gather you did not see on in the 1806-1807 time frame? Family stories have it that Cornelius Collins and Ellen McCarthy were married in a church in NYC.? But I haven't found a marriage record for them in the indexes.? When was civil marriage registration mandatory in the state of NY?? Is it possible they married in the church but did not register the marriage civilly? Is it possible that they registered the marriage in NJ but had a church wedding in NYC?
