    1. Re: [NYALBANY] Street Locations
    2. ChristineConnell
    3. Kelly The only one that appears to still have a house is 16 Trinity Place, Albany NY. These street addresses are all in the south/downtown bordering the "Pastures" and "Mansion" neighborhoods in the city of Albany (zip code 12207) within a few blocks of each other and not far from the Hudson River; much of this neighborhood was the victim of urban renewal of the last 20-40 years. The houses that remain in the neighborhood are mostly 19th century brick (The Historic Albany Foundation http://www.historic-albany.org/ periodically offers walking tours of this and other old neighborhoods in the city). Using google's "street view" (http://maps.google.com) you can actually "virtually walk around the neighborhood" and see some of these addresses. Both the Van Zandt Street and Wilbur Street addresses appear to be a vacant lots now. Google maps is confusing trying to locate the Madison Ave locations, because it tries to find a location on another street also called Madison Ave on the West end of the city in the 12205 zip, but I'm pretty sure these are located where is now the Madison/South Pearl parking lot for NY state employees. Hope this helps Chris > Hello, > > I have recently found several census records that listed the following > street addresses. 1. Re: [NYALBANY] Records for the Evangelical German Protestant Church-attn John...
    2. Know the Cemetery well. My German Protestant ancestors are there. The Catholic ones are either in Our Lady Help of Christians or OLC out on Central Ave. (Can't have Catholics and Protestants buried in the same Cemetery). Don't know the names you gave, but the area around the church "Dutch Hollow" was heavily German. JTravis **************Get the Moviefone Toolbar. Katherine was born 9-21-1879 and is the daughter of Andrew Strube and Mary Schweiker. I have put these folks on the back burner while researching another German family to whom we are related- the Shultes/Shultis folks. I really appreciate the material one can find via the internet. 2. Thank you John. I've been trying to find a record of this church for many years. My great aunt is buried there and I did wonder if any of her family might have followed her. Those German ancestors of mine who were Protestant attended this church and many are buried in its Cemetery. The church is at Alexander and Clinton Sts. in Albany. I think John U.
