    1. [NYALBANY] Looking for Montignani surname
    2. Steve Montignani
    3. I have found that a father and son both lived in Albany, both named John Montignani. The younger was a Lawyer and had his own law firm. He wrote several state of NY archived articles and books on "Insanity" which are available. He also owned much Real Estate near or on Lake George. His father came from Scotland where in the early 1800s his family had moved from Italy. I suspect he would be listed in a Presbyterian church roster (probably a Scots-Presbyterian church.) Any info appreciated. -- Steve Montignani stevem@greenbuilder.com

Author: loisyunker73 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.albany/7677.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Kay Breardon and Lynne Sisk do all the look ups for Sister Sara, she calls them when she has any request for any lookups. They both were their last Thursday doing just that for Sister. That parish no longer has a secretary to do these things, Sister runs the Soup kitchen and food pantry, so she is very busy with this work. Running the parish was not her original job coming to Sacred Heart. As of this year they are not planning to close Sacred Heart, but who knows with our current Bishop, it could close tomorrow without any notice and sold off as restaurant or something. But I'm sure by 2011 it will be closed for good. Both Sacred Heart and St Joseph records have been photo copied to be put into a book form by alphabetical order, As my requested on this sight for help has gone with out any luck for help this, could take many years with so little volunteers to help data enter and proofread the work. St Joseph had about 10000 marriages and about 18000 Baptismal records, from about 1842. 2. Nice job. Such an interesting era. It struck me oddly that at a time when we already had the means to manufacture artificial ice, we still didn't have the capacity to keep ice artificially frozen!
