The John Dunbar born 24 August 1895 and died Feb 1969 (SS Death Record) was born in Kingston, Ulster County, New York. I verified this with his WW1 Draft Registration. I don't think there is any connection to Pennsylvania. Sorry Do you have any other infomation on the John Dunbar you are looking for. Maybe I can find someting else. I looked at a will, you will first have to go through court house screening, go into the basement office, look through large volumes of index books, and someone will bring you the file. It was my second visit in ten years, they have a new building and the records can be retrieved faster than before. At my first visit over ten years ago, in the old courthouse, I wanted to make a copy and was told they would make a copies for me but had to charge a standard fee of $5.00 per page, even if I did not want an "official" copy. So on my last trip I did not ask for any copies, since it would have run into hundreds of dollars. If someone out there knows if the price has been reduced please chime in. I am not sure if they permit you photograph the wills either. I was in Warren County years ago, and the office charged me 25 cents and was very helpful. Albany is a bit busier. Bring plenty of quarters for the parking meters. Don Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi all. I have the following CD, which I am willing to do some lookups from. Revolutionary War Pensions Lists, Military Records. Contains images from 12 volumes of Revolutionary War pension records. Contains information on approximately 110,000 individuals. Some types of information that "MAY" be included is… Name and Rank, Regiment and description of service, Place of residence, Nature of wounds or disability, Date of death, Occasional reference to family members. Please send any requests for a lookup from this CD directly to me at scott@lookingfordead.com Please be sure to put "Rev. War Pension Lists" in the subject line of your message. Please include the state they enlisted in and or filed in which may be the same state they died in. If you know a spouses name or birth date and or death date. Even if you are not certain that your ancestor served during the Rev. War, you may still feel free to ask for a lookup, as long as you know the person would have been of age to have served in the war. Dad (the son of William Nicholas Vandercar) researched the Vandercar family and has compiled a lot of info. about family history. I have copies of his research (hopefully, I can find it). Would you like me to mail a copy to you? A lot of the Vandercar graves are located in the Waterford Rural cemetery. We used to go to visit on Memorial Day. Looking forward to hearing from whomever. I have two probate dates, 1872 and 1887 (I have the date and month also) that I got from an index. I was told by a court employee, "there is very little in those drawers." I'd be happy to pay the search fee, but I wonder if I should just go up there and look myself. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am sure then that you are aware of the official Vatican decree forbidding Mormon transcription of Catholic records. If not. I suggest you go to: _http://mormonism.suite101.com/article.cfm/no_lds_access_to_catholic_records_ (http://mormonism.suite101.com/article.cfm/no_lds_access_to_catholic_records) JTravis **************Worried about job security? Looking for a Joseph Fagnant or Fanyou. It's a long story as to the entirely different last names. He and his family were in the Albany area for the 1830s and 1840s before moving to Hartford, CT. Ed Hagerty Monroe, CT

It is interesting from one Diocese to another how things vary. Check out our Wilmington Irish web site at www.lalley.com. We have transcribed all pre 1900 catholic church records for the Diocese of Delaware. Our Archivist Donn Devine is a great supporter. regards Nancy ----- Original Message ----- From: <Johnntravis@aol.com> To: <nyalbany@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 02, 2009 9:05 PM Subject: Re: [NYALBANY] St Joseph Church lookup You are correct. In fact, you will rarely find ANY Catholic records on-line. This iappears due to an irrartional fear of posthumous conversions. I directed Carol to Sr. Nola at the Diocescan Archives as a source to know where the recirds are now. Sacred Heart, which is just north of St. Josephs, is open all that often and the people there, while they do their best, have other priorities. JTravis **************Worried about job security? Hi There are no Catholic records in the Albany Diocese on line, so h you been misinformed. St joseph records are at Sacred Heart of jesus on Albany NY **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Try this. _http://www.rcda.org/_ (http://www.rcda.org/) The Diocese of Albany may have the Records you are seeking. In any case, they should be able to assist you. Most Catholic records are on=line however. Nor are they in the Latter-Day Saints records. We Catholics suffer from the irrational fear that someone will try to convert our ancestors posthumously.
