I have just added the naturalization index for 1854 and 1855 for Albany County NY. The data includes name, where born, port left by, where living at the time of applying for citizenship, date. Please read the notes on the site to see what limitations these indexes have and problems I may have encountered when transcribing the records. I am sending this to lists outside of Albany because the records show that the applicants lived in many NY counties and even other states (many from MA). Biggest problem I found was the 1854 records were on two films and one film ended on Mar 13, 1854 and then the next film started with Sep 11, 1854 leaving a big gap between the two. Hopefully, my ancestor isn't in the gap! If anyone is related to the Patrick Sweeney and/or John Sweeny listed in 1854, please contact me off the list.
