Got this information from Barry Considine. I knew the road was ripped up..... The road in front of that place is awful this week, I was there yesterday about 4:30pm. Cars backed up for 5 blocks on Rte 2 and up the Brunswick Ave hill to Tibbetts Ave., where there was another line. Never been worse, so plan to leave early. I may go up Spring Ave to Linden Ave, but have a feeling I'll have a tough time going left to get on Pawling. Maybe I'll park on Linden. Plan on leaving early to make it for 5:45, the traffic should be cleared up by then. Or re-route, go into S Troy and head up Spring Ave then come back down Pawling Ave. towards the cemetary. The cemetary is on the right from that direction so you should be able to just turn into it. Also Jan suggested you may want to bring a flashlight. The sidewalk is broken up between the cemetary and the church. You may want to shine the light on the sidewalk to watch for holes. ANYWAY sounds like an adventure. I hope no one is scared off by some broken up sidewalk. See you then. There we will have a talk on the building and the stain glassed windows. The owner of the former Farnham Institute (formerly a school connected to the Church of the Ascension) has invited us into the building which is located directly across the street from the Hall. The building has been converted into a private residence. The first floor retains its original floor plan and is used as an art space. The walk from the cemetery to the Hall is a short distance but there is major construction all along the way. with little if any sidewalk. There is no closer parking available because of the construction. Brant Caird and/or Ned Pratt will be hosting us. We should meet promptly at 5:45 as it gets dark early, hopefully it will not be raining. I assume if it is raining we will meet and walk directly to the Hall, everyone should be prepared to walk just short of a typical city block.
